I’ve done a point-by-point outline for Ithan-Yuran and the Secret of the Lost Dessert, Logbook of an Artificer, Understanding an Ancient Duty and Rank C. I’m halfway done the outline for Trials and Tribulations of a Student of the Great Game and I shouldn’t have too much trouble writing the one for Wargames of a Different Sort.

However, I’m stumped for I’ll Stake my Reputation on It, Modding the Future, and Hacking the Hacker. I’m taking it as a bad sign that I’m already stumped with these three stories — I may ditch them. While they sound like really good ideas, I’m just not “feeling” them right now. I won’t delete them off the roster yet, though, because if I delete them, I’ll be left with six stories that need to be 8250 words each. While I suspect I’ll hit verbal diarrhea with Kamicha’s story, others — like the Ithan-Yuran one — I suspect will be short. I’m tempted to force myself to make a plot for those whether I like them or not, and write them at the end…

Here is my outline. Note that there is a middling spoiler for The Method and the Madness in there. Viewer discretion is advised.

I have no idea how I’m going to pull this off…

Narrator: I love how Ooke remembers which games are which. ^^;

I’m thinking of participating in this year’s NaNoWriMo. The thought stemmed from the fact that I have a lot of short stories regarding previous games and characters that are brewing in my head, and this seems like a good time to put them down on paper.

I’m a little worried, though. It calls for 50,000 words during the month of November. That’s 175 pages, or 6 pages per day. That’s a hell of a lot of text, considering the longest I’ve ever written in my lifetime was 22 pages.

If I were to do this, I’m thinking of dividing things in six or seven short stories. Obviously, the more stories, the easier it’ll be for me to write. I can’t reuse old material, but I’m allowed to write outlines beforehand.

What do you think? I have a few days to decide…

I haven’t updated in a pretty long while. Last weekend, I moved servers (within the same provider) so I could install a new version of MediaWiki along with other software. The move was pretty gruelling and it was about 12 hours of work to get everything copied over.

I’m getting ready to participate in a play-by-post set in Victorian Europe. I’m really looking forward to this, especially since the character’s meant to be incognito (as in, no one knows who I’m playing). I’d go into details, but… some of my readers are players in this game. NO SPOILERS FOR J00!
