Yes, I’m still alive. I’ve also still been writing. I was a little behind yesterday (1000 words), but aside from that, I’ve been staying with my head over water.
It pains me, but I’m cancelling three stories. My whole point to doing NaNoWriMo was Message in a Bottle, but I somehow don’t see myself being able to get around to it. I also never REALLY wanted to write Long Way Home since it was a game that Sky was going to run and never got around to… still would like to see something happen with that.
My goal for today is 5,000 words. It’s a lot. The most I’ve written in a day this year is 3,000 words (last year was 6,000), and with Hunter finishing early today, I know I’m going to be distractapated after 5:00 pm-ish… so I have six hours and a half to write. This normally wouldn’t be a problem (I can do 200-300 words in 10 minutes) if it weren’t for writer’s block. I know what I want to write… it just won’t come out.
Once I get to 40,000, the rest is cake. I haven’t resorted to underhandedness like I did last year (did you know that these blog posts could count into my word count if I wanted them to?), but I’m leaving the door open for that…
