I did it, and a day ahead of schedule (since I wanted to finish this this weekend instead of worrying about it on Monday).
I didn’t copypasta songs to pad wordcount.
I didn’t copypasta blog entries as “writer’s notes” to pad wordcount.
I wrote 50,000 words on ONE SUBJECT, something I thought I’d never, EVER be able to do.
I did it.
Thank you all who helped me. I’m posting the original document here as a PDF to prove that I actually wrote stuff. Word count in Word doesn’t match that of the NaNoWriMo validator, so don’t think I cheated or something.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SOMETHING BARELY RESEMBLING A DRAFT. Most of the major points are there, with author’s notes in between the scenes that don’t have any tie ins. I still need to write those. THIS IS REALLY BAD WORK, PEOPLE, so don’t post here saying that my characterization and grammar lolsuck because I HAVEN’T EVEN EDITED IT YET.
I’m jealous, since I’m not yet done… 49,248 so far according to Word. Going to push to finish before Salvage tonight though.
Congrats though! I’m going to read it once I’ve won (hopefully in an hour or two….) as a reward. I can’t see Adelheid in-game anymore without thinking of your NaNo.

Just to warn you, though, it’s really, REALLY bad… I didn’t make Adelheid flighty enough, though my focus group (LOL) says that she’s fine so far…

Now to read Exodus! I’ll send mine along once it’s done and lightly edited if you like. (I figure it removes a lot of the “NaNoness” of it if you get rid of the gratuitous sex scenes and over-descriptions….)

@Ooke LOL, I never posted last year’s because it’s in worse shape than this year’s… though it’s not TOO bad in terms of finishedness. (Two stories aren’t finished, one of which isn’t readable and the other being pretty damn readable for what’s there.) I should really post it; the WoW story is amazing, if a little bloody.
