I am amused by the fact that the permalink is called “State of the Cas 16″. Creativity in my post titles? Why, we can’t have that here!
So I haven’t done one of these in a while and I really apologize for this. I’d say I’m tired, but I’m always tired, so that’s no excuse. Anyways, less whining, more blogging.

First of all, I’d like to thank those of you who kept us in your thoughts… it means a lot to me. I also found out this morning that a prayer chain had been started on a North American cat mailing list… I can’t express the overwhelming gratitude I feel in words, so I’ll just say thank you so much.
The tl;dr version is that the surgery went without a hitch and that she’s awake (and stoned). I will probably be able to take her home Monday. No idea what food she’ll be on as of yet (she needs to be on a low-residue diet, and her current food technically IS that, but the vet’s looking this up and talking to Royal Canin).

The following post deals with some rather graphic descriptions as to why Eris is sick. The tl;dr version is that she needs surgery, and it could cost me up to $6,000. The rest explains why I’m going ahead with it.
